Once upon a time, there was a young mage cat named Spellcaster. Exceptionally gifted. Alarmingly reckless. The poster kitten of chaos.

One day, consequences caught up with him. They had been jogging after him for years.

Spellcaster opened an unstable portal to the surface of the moon. Not because he needed to. Because he could. The vacuum of space swallowed his older brother whole, and the portal twisted shut as if it regretted existing.

Spellcaster was devastated. But his father was inconsolable. A mighty lord, he banished his son from the hold.

And so Spellcaster set out alone.

He crossed strange lands until he reached the sea. There, he boarded a northbound ship. A storm in the Nevercalm Sea drove the vessel to harbor at Fogfur.

Spellcaster stepped onto the docks and decided, mostly out of exhaustion, that it seemed as good as any town to begin a new life in.

He tried his paw at honest work. He was terrible at it. Magic was the only thing he had ever done well.

In time, he became a wandering mage of the region. No grand spells. No reckless power. Only small charms, simple potions, and useful little tricks.

He swore never to release his inner chaos again. To be ordinary. Predictable. Downright boring.

But chaos cannot be contained forever. It sleeps, like an ancient volcano, pretending to be calm.

Then it erupts.

Blighted magic gripped Fogfur. The Nevercalm Sea pounded its shores. Snow fell without mercy, trapping cats in their homes.

Only Spellcaster knew how to stop it.

He opened a portal to the moon once more and cast the blight through it, freeing Fogfur from its grasp.

And in doing so, Spellcaster realized that chaos was never his enemy. Only his nature.
