"I Like You"—11"x14" acrylic painting on panel

An intrepid Earthling lands his spaceship onto a dusty planet. He prowls down his ship’s ramp, and surveys the desolate terrain. Not much to behold here. He twitches his tail, and sniffs the air, even though he can smell nothing but himself inside his spacesuit. Force of habit, really. He is a cat, after all.

According to his ship’s sensors, the minerals he needs are nearby. He pads over whispering sand dunes. And then through a dusty canyon. He hears a noise, and sees a flash of green. What in catnip’s name was that?

Must have been his imagination. According to his ship sensors, there is no carbon on this planet. Had to have been the wind. He leaves the canyon. 

A green cat stands on a dune ahead of him. She twitches her tails. 

Silicon!

Why does he always forget to scan for silicon life forms? 

The green cat trots up to him, and circles around him. 

He backs away; smaller things have tried eating him on unknown planets before.

But the green cat is persistent. 

She licks his helmet.

I Like You started off as a digital painting on my computer. Absolutely no AI was used to conceptualize this original painting. I then transferred the sketch over to a 14”x11” MDF art panel, and painted it in Golden acrylics. For this image, I used a combination of scratchy, expressive brushes, paint splatters, and airbrushing.

This piece has a Certificate of Authenticity attached to the back. It is easy to frame yourself, without needing the help of a professional.
