For a merkitty, the ocean is a buffet. Because of this, they never go too hungry, spending most of their days sleeping, playing, exploring, and grooming. Sometimes, they even sun themselves on the rocks along the shore. That said, when it’s time to hunt, they are all in—and the fish don't stand a chance!

A peckish little calico purrmaid has just spotted her perfect meal. The fish isn't so big that it would cause trouble, yet it’s not too small to be skipped. Best of all? It's a sardine.

While the harsh sun casts her face in shadow, a closer look reveals the absolute intensity in her eyes.

This painting features hours of meticulous brushwork, blending traditional paintbrushes with smooth airbrushing. The piece began as a digital value study on my computer—with absolutely no AI used to conceptualize or create the artwork. I then transferred the study to a gessoed MDF art panel to paint it traditionally.
